Golf Tournament a Success
The 1st Annual Bruce Peninsula Seniors Connect golf tournament was held in conjunction with the
Cornerstone 10th Annual Classic. The thirty-nine golfers had great fun and showed a competitive spirit.
Our hosts, Dianne and Jeff, as well as Jami and staff hosted a full day of fun and great food. The many
winners took home some super prizes and the silent auction table was full of much-appreciated
donated items from local businesses and those abroad. We look forward to another successful
tournament next year. Our fundraising efforts raised just over $2,000, which will be used to offset the
non-profit Bruce Peninsula Seniors Connect organization. Many thanks to all who assisted and
especially to Shirley Johnstone for her stellar performance once again.

Mr. Bill Caulfeild-Browne will share his slides of one of his amazing adventures
in far corners of the world – destination to be announced!

Mr. Ross Kyler will regale us with a seasonal tale. Ross is one of the best
storytellers on the Bruce! It is sure to be an enjoyable and timely presentation.

Senior Moment
A very self-important college freshman from Ottawa University took it upon
himself to explain to a senior citizen standing next to him while waiting for a bus,
that it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.
“You grew up in a different world, actually almost a primitive one,”
he said, loudly enough for the other passengers nearby to hear. “The young
people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the
moon, our spaceships have visited Mars. We have nuclear energy, electric and
hydrogen cars, computers with light-speed processing and...”
Pausing for breath... the Senior took advantage of the break in the student’s
litany and said: “You’re right, son. We didn’t have those things when we were
young... so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little so and so, what are you
doing for the next generation?”
