Lion’s Head Coffee Mornings

During 2007 we had consistent attendance on average of 12-16 seniors on Wednesday mornings. During the gentle seasons we made some excursions into the Bruce countryside for lunch, car-pooling with very knowledgeable navigators amongst our long-time Peninsula residents. At other times we have invited speakers to impart information useful to us. Many times we just enjoy beverage and cookies and lots of talk, happy to be with each other, secure in the certainty of friendship.
We had a joyful Christmas finger food lunch on December 19 which included carol singing and stories. We thank the kindness of the local fire department for letting us use their larger meeting room. A few of our regular coffee-junkies are departing for warmer climates, but most of us choose to be snow-sitters. We give thanks for the good recovery of Cathy and Loraine and wish well for equal good news from Val and Kristyne. The senior years can bring their handicaps – but also bring wisdom and grit. All best wishes to everyone on the Bruce for 2008 – may it bring healthy days and many love-filled moments.

Tobermory Coffee Break

Tuesday December 11th was a Christmas celebration day for Tobermory Seniors Connect.
Ross Kyler, noted Lion’s Head story teller, moved a gathering of Tobermory and Lion’s Head folk toward the spirit of Christmas with two entertaining O. Henry tales. After Ross’s seasonal renderings we enjoyed a soup, sandwich, and Christmas treats lunch.
The weather co-operated in spite of a poor prognosis. We look forward to more get-togethers with the Lion’s Head Coffee Connection group, but probably not until after the winter driving lottery is over for this year!
