Hooking in the Woods
The Happy Hands Ladies enjoyed a picture perfect day, July 16th, at Mary Janet Mustard’s log cabin. It’s a
step back in time as the restored family home is set at the back of Mary Janet’s farm. There is no hydro and
the plumbing is down a path behind the cabin, so it truly is like going into a time gone by. Ladies come from
all over the region to renew old friendships and share ideas. With lawn chairs, hooks, hoops, and bag lunch,
it took three vehicles to deliver the eight ladies to this annual event. The caravan was led by Fay Butchhard,
a cousin of Mary Janet’s, to the rolling hills south-east of Chatsworth. The day was spent sitting under a shade
tree with refreshments and chatter. Some women even managed to get a little work done on their project. By
3:00 o’clock, we packed our things back in the vehicle and headed north once again, full of ideas for new
projects and fond memories to giggle about all winter.
Next month we are going for a picnic in the park in Kincardine.

FUNDRAISING DRAW
Bruce Peninsula Seniors Connect
has undertaken several initiatives
to raise funds for Seniors Programs and
Activities on the Bruce Peninsula.
On Saturday October 11th, 2008
they will be holding the Draw at
the Tobermory Community Centre for:
1st Prize – A Stained Glass Picture
2nd Prize – A Royal Doulton Figurine
Tickets will be available from Board Members
and at various events throughout
the Peninsula during the summer.
Tickets $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00

GOLF TOURNAMENT
Plans are well underway for the Bruce Peninsula Seniors Connect 2nd Annual “Clubs in the Tub” Golf
Tournament.
It will be held at the Cornerstone Golf Club in Tobermory on Saturday August 9th. Come out for an afternoon
of Golf, Fun, Food and Prizes.
The price of $60.00 per person includes: Lunch, 9 Holes of Golf and Dinner plus a Silent Auction. Space is
limited to the first 72 PAID players, so register early at Cornerstone Golf Club at 519-596-2332.
