MEMBERSHIP FEE
At the June meeting of Bruce Peninsula Seniors Connect, a motion was passed to have an annual membership fee of $10.00 as of September1, 2009. In order to carry out the mandate of Seniors Connect, and to be able to provide information to seniors in a timely manner, we require someone in the office on at least a part time basis. Membership fees, along with money raised at fund raising events, will allow us to do this. Also a membership fee is a requirement for some Government Grants.

The computers were two months late in arriving, which meant that the program was running in July when everyone is already busy with summer activities. Because of this, there were a number of people who were unable to take the course at this time. However, response has been exceptional, way beyond what we expected, and the seniors are enjoying their newfound ability and are looking forward to sending e-mails to friends and family. We have had several requests to repeat the program in the future. There have also been a 
number of people who have asked to have a typing course later this fall. These requests will be discussed at our meeting in September.
